The MFW Beauty Academy was created after the success of Massif Fashion Week. Massif Fashion Week is an intimate designer based runway showcase catered to retail buyers, fashion enthusiasts and garment industry as a whole. Based in a fashion photography and film studio. Massif Fashion week produces a collection of runway shows that are filmed and photographed in high quality formats to be viewed by a broader audience. The MFW Academy serves as a platform for hair stylist and makeup artist to develop their skills, learn new techniques, get expert feed back and network with other artist with in the industry.
This season, the MFW Academy will be lead by two teams. In team one we have, hair stylist, Luis Gonzalez. Luis is a Certified Hair Color Educator, Aveda Hair Color Mentor Purefessional and the owner of VIDA Salon. His hard work and talent landed him a position on the hair design team for New York Fashion Week along with Make up artist Brad Van Dyke, education director for Aveda Institute CO, AZ and UT. Brad has participated in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week since 2011 and organizes groups for London Fashion Week.
In team two, we have hair stylist, salon owner and educator Matthew Morris. Known for being a quick-change artist, Matthew has the ability to morph clients and models into endless looks with ease along with Make up artist Katelyn Simkins, winner of the 2015 NAHA makeup artist of the year, four time NAHA makeup artist of the year nominee, named "make over" pro by Allure Magazine. Katelyn Simkins has been an artist her entire life.
